What you get when you sign up for virtual lessons with Music on The Move Studios

This time of year, everyone is making new resolutions, goals, and intentions. It’s just the way of January, right? We always get an influx of new requests from our students wanting to conquer certain “musical mountains,” as well as questions and requests as to what exactly a “virtual private lesson” entails.

We (Caitie and Erin) decided to sit down and highlight what exactly you get when you join the Music on The Move Studios community!

1. A private one-on-one personalized music lesson you can do from your own home.

Seems like the obvious answer right? But there’s something about not having to commute back and forth to a studio.

Whether you’re working from home, still in school, or on that 9-to-5-grind, you can rest assured that when you get home, you don’t have to leave again, or wait around in a lobby for your lesson, only to have to drive home. You can get comfy and get ready in your own space! Once you’re done, you’re done! You can close the app and keep practicing, or you can simply move on with your day. You don’t think it would be that big of a deal but when you get to cultivate the space that you learn and create in, it’s an absolute game changer!

2. Our Student Portal

Music on The Move Studios uses a service called “My Music Staff,” which allows students to have their own “portal.” This is where they can see their upcoming lesson schedules, notes from previous lessons, log their practice time, message their teacher, and more!

The Student Portal also has a database where Caitie & Erin upload supplemental elements for their students. Such as a warm up database, articles to help further understand a concept, worksheets to use in between lessons, charts, and supplemental videos!

3. The lesson doesn’t stop after you’ve signed off!

We truly want our students to succeed and so every week, we assign students “homework” (exercises they can do 5-10 minutes/day) to help them continue to improve from week to week.

We also give their students access to ask questions whenever they have them via email or text!

We truly love what we do and so when you ask us a hard question, we get excited that we get to “nerd out” about what we love.

As professional musicians ourselves, we both have at least 40 years between us of experience in the music industry as performers, songwriters, (and pretty much every job in between!) We are happy to give budding musicians who are interested in becoming professionals advice on what that looks like. (Don’t worry parents, we’re incredibly honest about it & just how hard it is, and the hard work & dedication that it takes but, we also love what we do and we pass that passion on to our students!)

We’ve helped students with auditions, prepared them for studio sessions, live performances, and even karaoke!

We’re here to help everyone of every level!

4. The Music on The Move Community.

If you do any digging on our company, you’ll see that we are a multi-faceted entity. We have quite a few projects going but that also means, we have developed quite the community of musicians!

We also offer our students virtual performance opportunities for their families, friends, and fellow students to show off what they’ve worked on, whatever it may be!

We love our students and treat them like family because we want to watch them succeed as much as they do!

When you join Music on The Move Studios, you’re not only gaining a music education but an entire community!
