Submissions are Closed! Now What?
We are SO THRILLED at all of the submissions we received for this year’s March 20th Showcase at The Basement East! We received a MASSIVE amount of submissions, to the point where we’ve been listening to new music non-stop for the last two days so, thank you to everyone who submitted! You’ve made our jobs incredibly difficult.
So now what?
The fact of the matter is, we only have 4 slots in our lineup so, we sadly can’t feature everyone. Instead of trying to eliminate everyone at once to get to that final four, we created a system:
We go through several rounds of listening, picking out those who stand out to us the most.
Once we have that list, we narrow it down to a top 10.
That top 10 gets sent out to a group of trusted industry professionals who then pick their individual top 5.
That top 5 gets cross-referenced with each pro’s list and from there, the line up is picked!
Sounds easy-peasy right? HA!
One of the main things we listen for is, which four artists will sound the best as a collective group. We want the showcase to be a cohesive but diverse group of artists who provide a unique experience for our audience!
