Why “Mr. Irrelevant” is actually RELEVANT.

On this week’s episode of Paradox Jukebox, Nashville based singer-songwriter and “dad extraordinaire” Keelan Donovan discusses his artist career, and why he created an alter artist ego called “Mr. Irrelevant.” During his time on American Idol, one of the judges said that his voice was “irrelevant.” (RUDE.) Unaffected by the judge’s comments, Keelan continued to pursue his career in music, and landed a publishing deal with Big Yellow Dog Music. (Take that, Idol judges!)

Keelan’s alter artist ego, “Mr. Irrelevant,” was created out of the need for a brand that fit his style of songwriting for Big Yellow Dog, and it led to a sync placement on HBO MAX, and he’s also had a song placed with The CW! Not only has he seen success in sync deals, his co-writing prowess has allowed him to work with the likes of Kacey Musgraves and Tenille Townes.

If there is a big takeaway here, it’s that not everyone knows what you are capable of. Keelan’s relentlessness has helped him build two successful brands that have subsequently helped him build a life he loves to live with his wife and kids.
