New Music Friday: Harper Mundy & Kaylee Federmann

Happy Cinco de Mayo! We’ve got two new additions to the New Music Friday playlist! This week we’re featuring singles from Haper Mundy and Kaylee Federmann.

Kicking us off this week is Harper Mundy’s single, ‘Kitchen Floor’! Stacked with vivid imagery and a driving rhythm, this song will put you right there with Mundy on the kitchen floor as the truth of her story rings out. With strong lines like, “the smell of your cigarette smoke/ thought I’d like it but I don’t/ and it lingers on my sleeves/ I don’t really want to leave you…”, you can almost smell the stagnancy of cigarettes long since smoked and a connection that’s reached its end. This is a great tune to spin if you’re going through a break-up, or maybe just realized it’s time to put a part of your life to rest that’s no longer serving you.

Rounding out the playlist this week is Kaylee Federmann’s single, ‘Good Guys’! Federmann describes the single as “a fun song about someone who thinks she wants a good guy but is lying to herself.” Whether you need a simple pick me up or you’ve been in a self-flagellation loop, replaying your self-destructive dating habits, with its upbeat tune and early ‘00s pop vibes, this song is sure to pump you up and make you think a little more about what it is you actually desire!

If you have music you’d like featured on the New Music Friday blog and playlist, submit your music to us in the contact section on our site!
