3.26 Artist Feature: Thunder and Rain Band

Meet all-female bluegrass trio, Thunder & Rain Band! We are so excited to not only have them at our showcase on March 26th but also have them be our first ever bluegrass group! We caught up with them to learn more about their music.

Where are you from?
We're based in Nashville, but Erinn is from California, Amelia is from Colorado and Laura is from Georgia.

Why did you decide to get into music?
Laura and Amelia grew up in family bands. Erinn grew up singing in musicals and writing songs

Who is your inspiration in your personal life? Professional?
The Chicks are our professional inspiration!

What impact do your loved ones have on your music?
They support us and cheer us on as we pursue our dream.

What is your favorite cover song to play?
Your Love by the Outfield

When you have no inspiration, where do you go or look?
Outside in nature, or scrolling through Tik Tok.

Have you always wanted to be a musician?
Yes! All of us pursued music at a young age and never stopped.

How does your hometown inspire you?
The Colorado music scene was really rich with bluegrass music. Amelia also played in a youth orchestra in Denver. Laura writes about her rural hometown often. Erinn's hometown inspired her to get out and find country music.

How did you decide to follow the creative path you’re currently on musically?
I don't think it was so much of a choice and more of a fate!

What is your performance style?
We are energetic, loud and passionate. We play with precision and want to have music evoke a feeling. We aren't playing just to show off!
